i have off roaded one
2.8i it shuck me to bits
it jumped out of gear while booting it up steep hills
the thing nearly killed me jumping out of gear at the top of a steep hill
but they dont lack power thats for sure (for what they are like)

i took mine up a mountain during the week and i got stuck till i realized it had jumped outa 4 wheel drive. even thou its only a 2.0 petrol it has loads of usable power

farmer phil,nearby me has a frontera,he has lifted it,installed a winch and a rear diff lock,and on more than one ocasion has winched me from the mud.
like all 4x4's they "are what they are" then you mod them and see what they can really do.
