yeah about that, £2800 would be cheap, much over £4k would be overpriced IMO

Regional price differences make a real hash of predicting, naming 'a good price' We are still having late 2nd gen 3.0 ltr being sold from £2.5k to £3.5 k N plate 3rd gens start at £3995 !

thing I can't get me head round is that garages put a different price on fleabay than on the forecourt There's a 3ltr M reg at Dearne Valley garage (an ex Chequered flag motor), Forecourt price £2999, fleabay price £2499 , Hows that work then ?

                Ok then

what would / should I expect to pay for a late 2nd Gen 3ltr ?

in good working order and good all round shape

Thinking of getting one to use as mobile workshop ie compressor for rivet tools and stuff.

can't use the salon not now its just been serviced valeted and so on

Why waste your money if it's just for work you can pick up a good condition 2.4 for about a grand less if you try hard enough

3.0 2nd gens starting at £1500 private, £3000 on the forecourt. Wouldn't pay more than about £2200 personally (if i had the money). I'd also consider a head / engine failure for around £500 and fix / get it fixed.
