Just watched Roger Clark wining his first world championship. It's just shown the 'new' 1300E.

The program goes on 'till 9pm, then it's Ford car racing. A bit of nostalgia in these fuel scarce times.

MK1 & MK2 were my Favourites, Ive also had 4 mk11 Cortinas 1600e & 1600GT.
One of my Garage owner mates has just paid 2K for a 1300 mk2 escort bodywork is mint & he's putting a COSWORTH Engine in it with all the running gear.

I made the mistake of buying an 1100cc Mk1 estate, ho hum talk about underpowered, snails were giving in one as they over took it !!!!

I later found out the estate was designed for the 1300

Watching the launch of the RS Cosworth, didn't it look smart in standard trim before the Essex boys got hold of them?
Don't/didn't like the RS turbos though, very white stillettos dancing 'round yer handbag type of motor.

My first MK1 escort was free from my uncle who had bought it when it was 2 years old.
After I had restored it he was pretty surprised to see it looking so good.
I painted it a dark Corsair green, very noice.

Had a few others since then, but my missus got so sick of me living in the garage.
