  • Car alarm....

I've been having real trouble with my car alarm since getting the truck, it's a good one, but seems to be a bit knackered, so today I had it replaced.

I called the company yesterday afternoon - who offered me a deal to have the next alarm up the list installed for the same price I was willing to pay for the other one (£350) as it was an offer for people who phone them....

They turned up at 13:15, and left 20 mins ago, removed the old alarm, installed, setup, tested and documented the new one and showed me how it worked....great guys, great service.

If you want one - give these people a shout first!

seems a lot of money though, I got my cat1 Cobra with locking for £220, saying that I never had to have one removed first.

        Just remove the steering wheel.

I'm looking into trying that myself, was it much of a job? I'm looking at this system here (http://cgi.ebay.ie/CAR-ALARM-REMOTE-...QQcmdZViewItem as it seems like a good complete package (alarm, imobiliser, central locking, remote start and option for automatic window winding).

I found the installation manual here (http://www.comm-elec.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/HA-260RS%20Installer's%20manual.p df but it looks a little incomplete.

How did you find installing yours? Did you power it from the cables into the ignition like suggested or did you run a new line directly from the battery? Did you find the door pin switch?

                    Thanks for your help,
                    S.h.
