If I have a valid MOT (3 weeks left) and I put the surf in now and it fails, does that mean on DfTs sytems my car is not MOTd? ie does the fail negate the previous MOT?

definately goes to the end date of the old cert. however, if you were pulled by the police and ended up in court or whatever or something like that, were involved in an accident which could have been caused by whatever your MOT fail was you'd be in the shit for driving a vehicle you 'knew' was not roadworthy.=========

Dunno if this helps but i have a current MOT cert for the 'new' 3.0 i got last week and when i took it to the garage today to get them to look over it .. it needed new front pads & the rubber was starting to perish on the cv boot...quoted £300 for parts & labour!! bit much i thought? ..... but anyhow they said that the inspection was the same as the MOT but would not issue a cert as it would mean that it would fail and invalidate my current one....... maybe just this garage but......The sh$t gets deeper ...but still swimming
