  • Apache or anyone with roof rack

    Right managed to fit the roof rails on, need to alter 1 of the brackets as it's not level on 1 of the sides but anyway

    Need to get the rack on but for the life of me cant figure how i'm gonna get the rack to sit on the rails as i have nothing here, anyone got any ideas?

      I'm not sure vince will they secure it down tight, as i was thinking cable ties but for security reasons thought better of it, and not sure if they are good enough

        Bushwacker on the right track

        A vairation on Bushwacker's idea.

        What about U bolts from a car trailers axle.

        Some thing like these. There made from high tensile steel so they are friggen strong and there cheap as chips from your local auto store.

          Thats what I've used. As my last rails had a slight curve in them and the rack didn't I used garden hose as a flexible spacer, slightly longer than the u bolt and drilled to span the two prongs. Was very strong when bolted up.

                Thanks mate will give it a shot.
                Hopefully next month i wanna lift the surf and since you a Welshman thought you may show me what to do if i bring the cold 1's

                Thinking 3" Landcrusier springs and all the trimmings

                            I thought it was the 3rd gen it was done on, i cant find the post and who done it, i wanted the max i could have in a body lift that is safe, whilst i weighed my options on the suspension lift as i have the hard soft option thing and my shocks are in real good condition (just ask the speed bumps)
