Why Beware The Squirrel?

How come every time a new member pops up someone quotes, "Welcome mate, watch out for the squirrel", or words to that effect?

I've never seen Trev pass out a nasty remark, or a p!ss take remark come to that. (But then again I may have missed them).

Now if they were to say, "Welcome mate, beware the Mattf, Apache, Kerrsurf or Yoshie", I think that would be nearer the mark!
