    Re should it stay

    Had the same problem myself.

Decided to keep the surf for towing and get something econmical for everyday.

You still have to keep the surf in good nick and give it the odd run out now and again, but you get to keep the smile.

Another train of thought is that you swap for a petrol surf and get it converted to LPG at around 50p per Ltr its still cheap.

I wish I had gone down the LPG route.

Lol my fat lazy cobs would never make it the 7 miles to school without stopping for grassy snacks - would take me hours but would be great fun

Am sure the kids would enjoy it more as well, seeing that they might never make it to school.....

Yup, it's my boy, a friesian. There are a couple of pics of him in the Pets section.

i think i'd have to move closer though. i might never make it to work otherwise - little cobby legs would take a while to do 14miles!

I'd be tempted to 'get lost' on purpose and just not show up...

Although seeing that I work with racehorses, I will either make it to work in record time or not at all....

not sure my patients would appreciate me not arriving to help fix them unfortunately

and I'm quite sure that daft baby Welshie would be a fair bet for me not getting there at all! One of those killer leaves might eat him alive on the way! Perhaps, the Surf is a safer bet after all.

mine dont tend to put me out of action, just make me look like i self-harm!

we dont have any cows or sheep, but Shetland ponies are apparantly really really scary! We live next to a grenade range - that doesn't scare him, but leaves and Shetlands are a whole different story!

Don't get me started on the Shetlands!!! I owned 3 of them and according to ALL my other horses, they were the devil's spawn (I did agree with that though....)

you chose to own one? sorry, more than one???

my other horse actually loves them - they make poor grooming companions though

I am facing the question i did not want to have to ask myself...

Should i sell my beloved surf or should i keep it

Fuel costs are just killing me - £70 a week just to take the kids to school and visit my horses 6 miles down the road. The price is £1.32 a litre near me and rising every day - don't know how much longer i can afford it

The trouble is i love it so much and don't want to sell it

The other trouble is we have just bought a touring caravan so will still need to have a fairly hefty car for towing

                            So what do you reckon

                            A) sell the surf and buy a 2.0 estate car to use all the time

                            B) keep it and buy a cheap 1.0 car for school runs and just use the surf for longer runs and special occasions?

                            or

                            F) Go to Downing Street and complain about fuel costs (with some power tools for extra persuasion)

                            Tis a sad day
                            run it on veg

It was not my choice!! My dad thought 2 of them would be a 'lovely' b-day present (no idea what gave him the idea...) and the other one was a rescue that I somehow got given. (What is that saying about never look a gift horse in the mouth?)

The Surf has to stay, you will be lost without it

I'd go for option B (actually, have already done it) and you will not regret it.
