I've just finished stripping and refurbing the ignition/lights switch. The bugger used to turn the ignition off when you turned the lights off before. Thought I'd best get that sorted.

Well, it's been stripped of all its copper, so it's definitely bearing a resemblance.


Did also find out that I have no fuel gauge either. That bugger, (combined coolant/fuel/oil gauges), has suffered a severe arcing and burn up session in the past. I'll end up being 70 before I get this devil ready for a MOT.

Definitely one of those occasions. Spent all afternoon drawing diagrams and such so I knew what coded cables went where on the dash panels, (the wiring which was still connected or hadn't burnt out, that is), and then gets under the bonnet to find out that everything is like spaghetti junction under there and nowt matches up. Got the t1t lip on at that point and just ragged it all out.

Five minuits .......i wish

...always end up taking a damned sight more than five minutes? Went out this morning to see to a dodgy sidelight and the main keyswitch on the Gypsy, and it has now got no wiring whatsoever left on it. Guess who's gonna be doing some rewiring.
