Couple of questions for you regarding connection.

1. Are you hard wired to the router or connecting wirelessly?
2. Are you using Windows XP or Vista?
3. What version of IE are you using?
4. Are you running anti virus software, ie Norton / Symantec etc?
5. Have you tried alternative browser, such as Firefox?

All / some / none of these things may have a bearing on the problem, so it is a process of elimination really. You should also as previously mentioned clear the cache and temporary internet files. An upgrade to the RAM works wonders as well if you haven't done it, some sites use Java and all sorts of memory intensive applications, and these will inevitably slow down the loading of the page. Some Firewalls also need to be configured to allow certain traffic through.

As you were not having problems before, it seems more likely to be one of two things:

1. Limit placed on your broadband connection
2. Issues with the DNS (Domain Name Servers) run by your ISP.


What I tend to do is

Clear all temporary files (in IE7)
Run the command prompt
At the prompt enter in:

ipconfig/flushdns and press return
ipconfig/renew and press return
exit and press return to close the command prompt

This command will purge any cached DNS resolvers and any IP addresses provided to you. Your machine should then try to re-issue all network cards with a new IP address or the previous leased IP address and rebuild the cached Domain Name Servers
