  • Hose!

I have a load of brand new hose that came with a mitsubishi intercooler. Its about 1/4" wall thickness and the same ID as rad hose. Its quite curvy and looks like I'd be able to make up some new rad hoses with it. Is it OK to use for coolant?

Can't see why not. It's going to be reinforced wall stuff, I'd assume, and I doubt there are many hoses designed for engine bay use which cant cope with coolant temps.

Thats what I thought. It looks and feels like the same kind of hose.

I'd personally go for it. 15 PSI max on the coolant system pressure, and approx. 125 degrees on the coolant temp ain't much to cope with. I bet even bog standard washing machine hose could withstand those.

Well, tomorrow, I'll size up my hose, and see if it will fit.

Just hope you don't find any cracks in it.
