They work from a compressor and have multiple settings with regards to stiffness, (or softness), whichever way you prefer to class it. They have a control module in the cab for tweaking the settings, if I remember correctly.

Chris, you may need what I have today, ES9000s all round and Land Cruiser springs, good firm ride on road, and I have no ARBs at all....
Pretty good offroad, although can be a little firm on the rocky stuff...
So, I've opted for adjustable shocks that I can change on the fly, soften them up a bit for the tricky stuff, and stiffen them up for tarmac, and I've just bought a new winch, so they'll need to be able to compensate for the extra weight on the front...
Tim - I've asked for lifted (2-4") so let's see what they say....Too old to care, young enough to remember
