well my surf is my only car
its the only car i can get in and out
i have no choice but to feed it
all my other choice of big cars that i can get in and out are of the same engine size or bigger
so useing a smaller car is not easy for me to do
but i have to do something soon
its a bit too pricey for me this diesel even veg is up to 1.05 ltr
i have look at most things and its all got a high cost to it
even if it save money in the long run
like LPG the price of a conversion TUT

sorry to hear you had to get a pug 106 tonyn
good runners but feel every bump in the road

If you diesel owners think you have it bad…… spare a thought for me! My V6 petrol Surf only does about 16 mpg around town

My solution has been to use my folding mountain bike + the train… and as a result I’m feeling a dammed site fitter than I used to. In fact yesterday I went for a 10 mile ride (partly along the Wirral Way) just for the fun of it and was back home by 09:30

I don’t regret buying my Surf and I’ve no intention of selling it as it is great for lugging shooting gear around at the weekends. Apart from anything else it is so reliable and nice to drive and compared to what people are paying to own brand new cars, this Surf does not owe my anything.

Oh and as regards the Pug 106, I took my father to see one last year as he liked the look of it (despite me telling him how bad French cars are)….. he went around the block in it, stopped and said “no way, it’s horrible” and walked away
Mine WAS a 150 bhp V6 and ran on PETROL

I would dust off the Suzook if I could.........

                    ......but........

                    1) I have to have a car for work (or get the sack)

                    2) It's too darned heavy to lug round the caravan every morning

                    3) There's far too many myopic VOLVO drivers up here

                    and last, but not least

                    4) The missus is expecting again so we have to sell it (and possibly 1 surf) to go buy a Ford galaxy

Ah - now I know all about it - dont have to keep asking in that other place

I just cannot picture either of you in it

But that mpg is slightly better than a surf :-)

hehe, I kinda fold into it. LOL.

With the back seat folded flat, the space is as long as the boot of a surf, but slightly narrower. So 3 dogs still fit.

Linda phoned earlier, apparently its got steam coming out from under the bonnet, just like a 2.4!!!

I drove up to the end of our lane this morning, and could get no further! the bank holiday traffic was stationary as far as I could see in both directions! Every one was cross, beeping and trying to persuade their satnav that taking a short cut passed my house would be a great idea....So I came home again.
Tried it again this afternoon, and still couldn't get out...
There we go - saved on fuel, saved on food, saved going to Halfords for motorbike and lawnmower fixing stuff, jobs a good one.
Got no food in the house now, so I hope they have all gone by tomorrow..
You are right about this country blowing though....
Don't worry- there'll be a flyover over your house soon, so no traffic on your level......
