my truck is no more :(

hi all,
i havnt been on here in ages! so sorry about that.
well, on tuesday i had an incident with another driver.
basically, i turned right out of a road as another car was turning left into my road. as i straightened up i see someone trying to overtake the person doing the left into the road i come out of. i pretty much stopped as i had only just started moving anyway and the overtaking car pulled back behind the car it was trying to overtake.
so i started on my way again, and as i looked in my rear view mirror i see him doing a 3 point turn, and then chase me up the road.
there was no way i was stopping to have a row or anything. so i accellerated to 30 and stuck there.
he caught up to me and over took me (god knows why he done this) but instead of carrying on, he decided to slam on his brakes and pull over.
at this point i proceeded to go round him as the safer option for me and him. there was no way i was stopping this thing in the wet that soon anyway!
so as i turned to go round him, he turned into my path to block me.
therefore my car smashed into his rear drivers quarter and now im left with a disabled car.
my front passenger wheel sort of hit him first so you can imagine the damage. other than that its just ach extension, wing, bumper and grill oh and headlight area.
as i hit him though, my car carried on and pushed him along a bit. i suppose thats what happens when 2 tons hits a polo.

the driver of the polo then drove off, and passers by and other drivers rushed over to see if i was ok. if it wasnt for them saying to me that they are happy to be my witness due to his reckless driving then i wouldnt have any witnesses! i was too shocked tbh..

but i have made it a little hard for myself as when i took my insurance policy i declined to legal cover to make it cheaper
and im 3rd party fire/theft
i didnt know it was so hard to get the other insurance company to deal with this! next time im going fully comp and legal cover is being taken too.

so, i think its going to be written off but i will have to wait and see.

I presume you've reported it to the flith? You should be able to pursue it through the courts.

gutted for u mate,if its just a wing,maybe hammer it out to make driveable?also,dont forget most insurers let u buy back for 10% of their valuation,ie if they said yours is worth 1500,u buy it back for 150,then cheque 1350

This happened to me just before Xmas, I was overteaking 2 cars and the lead car decided to turn right with no indication and he never looked in his mirror.

It went bump for bump (insurance companies !) and I ended up fixing mine for around £100, thanks to the good fellas on here (you know who you are) so all is not lost.

I even had to buty a front slam panel chopped off a surf to fab a bit into mine but it is now good as new.

btw, don't buy a milner or roughtrax wing, they are rubbish, better to get a genuine toyota wing from a breaker and paint it.

yea i reported it to the flith and the police aswell and also his insurance company. i have a handful of witnesses too so.

does anyone need any bits for their truck? i have a well looked after engine, mint recaro seats with no rips at all or worn areas at all. mk3 alloys and AT tyres etc etc lol

may be ill get a 3.0 surf if i can find one as nice as my one was. if not then may be a gmc suburban, or a old 90s mustang or camero. i only use my car on saturdays and sundays usually.

i have his details and regestration etc, i just hope it goes smoothly and i get a courtesy car soon because its well hard to do the weekly shop!

work are sending me to malta on thursday night, its all booked btw
