  • Strange Rattle

As the title say's, i have a strange rattle, i've had this since i had the car and thought it was the dual mass flywheel falling to bets, so that was changed, new solid flywheel and new clutch, pressure plate, the bell housing was nice and shiny but it had a good clean out with industrial cleaner and a air line, all then put back together and all was well.

Atleast for a month, the rattle has come back, it sounds like gravel on a tin plate mainly if i rev high and let the revs die down, its not all the time just once in a while, any ideas.

Could be a loose heat shield around the exhaust or turbo.

I know its not the exhaust as its been off and checked the heat sheild is that tight it wont budge (i was hoping it would slide to help me get to the fixings), ill check the turbo tomorrow.

could be a wee pebble stuck somewhere, maybe engine heat giving it more room to rattle.

        does that make sense?

                Yes it does make sense,

But the gearbox and transfer box has been out and the drive shafts, the exhaust and all cleaned and refitted with new bolts, it also sounds like it is coming from the bell housing area but this has been out and clened
