how the heck do you get it out

I got my new fuse yesterday for the glow plugs the 80 amp one. I tried to pull it out with long nose pliers but it fell apart there is a wee carrier or something which looks like both fuses (Alt and Glow) come out together but they won't from the top.

Do I need to take the whole fuse box out? Ideas please

Yup!

Its a pain, push the pair of fuses down through the bottom of the fuse box, and the wires are bolted to the fuse blades.

Disconnect the battery, the bolts are normally tight, and you WILL end up with the spanner/socket welded to the inner wing.

There is just enough loose wire to flip the fuse box over so that you can unbolt it
