There are some pretty imaginative people on here when it comes to problem solving so let's forget about taxes, fuel costs, Ken Livingstone and Jonny Foreigner for a bit and see if anyone's got any bright ideas to help me out.

I have a couple of 3 foot x 2 foot pictures that I would like to mount in my bathroom, actually over the bath. They aren't rude so don't ask.

Does anyone know of any kind of watertight frame that I can put them in. I am thinking maybe something two-part with a gasket. Failing that, I might just go for two sheets of acrylic and some (read lots of) silicone sealant.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

do several copies, laminate them and these non rude copies can be wiped clean if any ........thing is spilt on them, having several copies you could then hang them in several different places ie the bedroom ceiling,or directly opposite the cludgie,

          hope this helps dear friend

What about one of those glass frames with the hardboard backing...

get a coat of pva over the hardboard.... put your picture in an place the glass over an then put a small bead of silicone to close the gaps? that way you wont see loads of silicone an it should be waterproof?

                  might look ok too!

what about stailess steal get some made up nice and fancy
then you can seal them your self (made to measure)
coz the steal is colder than a see though plasic front
to water will gather on the steal

Now I like that plan. I guess I could use aluminium or even galv to save a bit?

If you can get them in digital format just use normal frames and print the photos out again every 3 days

nah seriously, there is 'waterproof photo paper' available, so it might be worth a try, printing on that then just using a frame of your choice. If you've not got it in digital format you'll need to find someone who can scan at high resolution and/or print it for you, i'm more than happy to print it, but my scanner's not great.

Get them laminated, and supported in acrylic, don't use polycarbonate, as it's hydroscopic,(absorbs moisture) hope this helps. cheeeeckie!!!
If it aint broke, keep goin' till it is.

Hi Are the pictures original paintings or prints if they are oils paintings you could near pressure wash them I have 2 in the bathroom on stretched canvas they have been in there for many years I wipe them with a soft terry cloth once in a while after a really steamy shower and they have neve deteriorated.

both are on wooden frames they have never distorted.

                            Cheers JB
