  • For there is none of you so mean and base,

That hath not noble lustre in your eyes. I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips, Straining upon the start. The game's afoot: Follow your spirit, and upon this charge Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!' Now get to the pub!!!
    it's in me shed, mate.

Us Englishers need to take more of a pride in our Englishness and patron saint (even though I am in no way religious). We need our national day, and we need to celebrate it.

I was singing that this morning as I arrived at work !

It must be the second oddest thing Sarah Kennedy's played in the last couple of weeks (the oddest was Stairway to Heaven)

Yup, I would do except my singing voice is so bad that it would actually be seen as anti English for me to sing Jerusalem in public.

How much for a bonnet sized St Georges Cross sticker?

Probably about £40-£50 at a guess as it would be just materials and hardly any design work. Cut by hand, its dead easy. Trouble is, our flag has kind of been hijacked and is now inextricably, and sadly linked to footy thugs.

I know, and it is a shame. But there is no reason why it can't be brought back as a means to demonstrate national pride. There does seem to be a strange thing in the English psyche which means that we don't think it appropriate to take pride in our country, something which - despite the attempts of politicians and PC numpties - I do still have.

                    Pity I don't have a spare £50 though.

As an Irish man living in England I find it sad that the English dont take more genuine pride in there nationality.

Everyone should feel free to be proud of there nationality.
