i have just bought a 2t engine hoist and engine stand to make life easier.
has anyone done a engine swap on a 3.0l and what will be needed to be taken off of the engine etc to make life easier.I would prefer to leave as much on as poss and then strip it out of the truck.
Will it be easier to take the engine out with the gear box out the way or leave where it is?
Will the front diff need to come out to make more room to move the engine about to take out?

Any good advice will be appreciated as i want to do the swap as quick as poss and with ease.T.I.A

The mistake i made on the last 2.4 engine i changed was rushing pulling the engine out and found there was still electrics connected and broke one connection. and not undoing the fly wheel first this maid it harder to lift the engine out as you have to pull it forward about 4" first before you lift it up. you can nearly do a straight lift if you unbolt the fly wheel ( it's a Tw@t). but worth it. Don't know if this is the same as the 3.0l
