Maximum Number of Passengers

Hey all,

Anyone got any idea what the law is with regards to back seat passengers??
My misses wants to take six people out in the Surf to save taking two cars.
Is she allowed to stick four people on the back seat??
Don't want her getting nicked!!

I think you will find that's a no no

Surf has belts for total of 5 souls including the driver, so that's your lot !


Otherwise you run the risk of getting your collar felt and we all know how the plod love the decent motorist.

mount another back seat tho with seatbelts and u can drive 8 passengers on a normal car licence

just ive seen time and time again accidents with people with no belts,u get to accident,see hole in windscreen,see patch of blood 10 yards infront of car,or see how they have crushed the person in front if they hit a seat

Trust me, I did try and argue the point, even pulled the "it's my truck line" but I couldn't find it in black and white anywhere on the net. At least if she can't do it legally she wont
