Test fitted this today including the side angles after attaching the spacer plates but i have 2 straps that is best described as, they have a bolt in place on 1 end and the other is holed ready to bolt in, the instructions are a bit vague to say the least

The exact way it's described on the instructions is:

Insert straps (g) into the open ends of the chassis rails and attach

sounds similar to the 2nd gen ones,

you're fitting the brackets to the outside of the chassis rails right?

the plate then slides inside the chassis rail captive nut end first with the captive nut pointing toward the centre of the truck and the flat face against the inside wall of the chassis rail if that makes any sense.

Yep fitting the brackets to the outside of the chassis ###### exhaust pipe is in the way a bit but managed to squeeze it in

Erm the other is a bit hard to visualize at the min maybe a fresh pair of eyes at 8 am on my back will help

Not yet bushy mate was gonna wait for the sun and the wind to stop then run out and grab the can and touch up

Next on list is a lift, not sure if a 2, 3 or 4 inch body lift though

"2 will be fine unless you're getting larger tyres. 33" tyres will need a 4" lift.

this is for a 2nd gen, but might make it easier to visualise, click the PDF logo where it says 'fitting instructions' http://www.witter-towbars.co.uk/towb...leTowbarID=935

                        Cheers for that nero

On the instructions i have the spacer plates go on top, but nothing or any pic for the straps

                        Exact wording is:

Remove towing hook on nearside chassis rail.

Remove bolts securing the fuel tank shield to chassis rail.

Attach spacer plates (c) and side angels (b) between the fuel tank shield and the chassis rail with bolts (f). use heavy duty washers (h) over the slots in side angels (b)

Insert straps (g)into the open ends of the chassis rail and attach
Attach tow bar (a) to side angels (b) with bolt (e)

N.b on later models (c) have captive nuts therefore use extra bolts (f)

Bar is for the toyota landcruiser colorado lwb 1996-

god dmn instructions may as well be in japanese

Been tryin to fit this today but got a problem mainly the drivers side, i can clear the exhaust barely but the side bar wont sit flush due to a bar going across the chassis which i took pics of.

Just stuck up pic of the instructions pic so you see what i mean

Maybe these pics will help, i found it a bit contradictory the way the instructions were explained so went my own route and it all worked out fine:

Antshiel thanks for that mate the ###### instructions were not good for fitting this, now you make it look simple to do .
Couple of questions though, them little strips go through the chassis and bolt onto the side brackets yeh?

Also those Insert straps (g) into the open ends of the chassis rails and attach where do they go mate they are the 1's with a bolt already in place and a hole ready (the smallest and thin strips)
