all depends on the case/s you get to hear..... it's honestly not as bad as you think it's gonna be. when i did it i think we started at something like 9.30 and were finished by latest 15:30 each day... you get a lunch allowance too
plus it's a coupla weeks outta the hell hole known as work!
a guy from work just done it and had the pleasure of sitting around waiting for 2 weeks in the courthouse and drinking 50p cups of pi$$ coffee....would hate to do it myself
There are ways out of it, during the selection process you could say that you think you know the perp, or say that as long as he/she ain't an immigrant or black, then you'll give 'em a fair trial, etc, etc.

Did my Jury service in January, got picked first day, did 4 days,
not a very nice case but was dismised after the 4 days, so I did not
have to serve full 2 weeks.
I'm selfemployed and was in the middle of a few jobs so it was a nightmare,
finished court 4.30 and then had to go to work!
I dont know if you know but you can defer for 12 months, but then you have to do it, unless your dead and they can call you again after 3 years!
