It's rather annoying that in the wonderful EU some people are more equal than others ......

For example, if you were part of an international IT company that had staff scattered throughout the world but had to make 'economies' in their European operation the first people to receive their brown envelopes would be the Brits - it's nothing to do with ability, profit or costs but purely employment legislation.

It's easier (and cheaper !) to make a Brit redundant than a Frog or a Boxhead - no offence meant if there's any reading this but I get hacked off about this. Guess who's company looks like it's slimming down in the next few weeks ........

Anyway if it does hit me I'll emulate Lurch and the Yeti and use it as an opportunity to find a decent job.

                        Good luck guys !

Life is too important to take seriously !

This all sounds like dejavu to me, I worked for a German company about 3 years ago which was bought out by a French Canadian company, before the new Manager came over from Canada we had all the floors painted and CCTV installed.

After about 3 months we won a big contract and had a £1 million pound CNC milling machine installed and again all the floors painted, this machine had been running for about 4 months when they decided it would be cheaper to build all the parts in France and Germany and have them built up and transported back over hear.

So the place was shut down By a Canadian, who had nice freshly painted floors and CCTV, Hmmm sound familiar.

Oh and now I work for Toyota, I was out of work for 1 week before I got this job, so alls not that bad in the end, Ps i got married 1 month after loosing my job, talk about STRESS

Any way, Good luck guy's, i know what you are going through

you can both work for me if you fancy relocating.

lurch - you can be a driver....but woodentop, after witnessing your driving i'm afraid all i can offer you is car cleaning...but then again i've seen your motors too - filthy. what about mechanic...no thats no good anything you fix only works for a day or so...erm...erm... ok ok, there must be something you can do..

                              you're completely useless!!!!

THATS IT!!!!! completely useless...civil service awaits you mate!!!

I notice you haven't mentioned getting Bio to answer the phone and manage your calls.

Is that because you don't want him telling you where to go ?

Oh hang on he already does

On a more serious note chin up Lurch and Bio with luck something better will turn up.
