I would'nt use hammerite on the bodywork myself, ok under it, can you not get an aerosol can made up at a paint supplier, show em ya vin plate and they can get the colour from it, or if you have a fair bit to do get a lt of it,

I take it you dont have (or can borrow) a compressor and spray gun? this would be the cheapest and easier way, otherwise it's aerosol cans! if you do want to use ammerite smooth in aerosol's you'll need to do all the grey area's or it'll stand out like a sore thumb as you'll never get a perfect match to whats on there already, in fact even if you get a "match" made up at a paint shop it'll prob look slightly different when to apply it, so again it'll probably pay you to do all the arches and bars etc, just give em a good rubbing down with very fine grade wet&dry 1200-1600 in soapy water, get a small tin of panel wipe, (dewaxer) or it'll go streaky and look cr@p, light even coats from about 12-15" and build it up over 3 or 4 coats, hammerite and cellulose flash off pretty quick, if your doing it ouside (which i would'nt reccomend unless you've no choice) make sure it's a warm ish day and not windy,

I can get you a large can of spraypaint for 12 quid if you give me your paint code off the vin plate.
There's a car paint & panel supplier in New Inn nera Pontypool that I use.

That would be handy mate, it's the grey area on the front arches and the bull bar will have a check of vin plate in the am
              Cheers for that bushwhacker

Just had a thought, there's an Autopaints shop on Penarth road, between the railway bridge and Corporation road, on the right as you go towards the city centre. I've used them in the past, dunno if they're still there though, worth a look as you're only a few minutes from there. Just tell them your code or show the guy the vin plate.

Milners also do colour matched paints:

                      Yep, thats the place.

The main colour of your truck (8L6) is Azure blue pearl, but the silver grey isn't listed in the two tone colour chart. Maybe they can match up their colour swatches at the shop.

Don't forget you'll need clear laquer as a top coat for a glossy finish, the base colour will be matte.

The Toyota code for the silver is almost certainly UCA 30, the same lower half colour as mine even though its the dark mica blue 8L7. I've painted various bits including the front bumper and bull bar and it was spot on.
Anyway its a two by four most of the time....

Thanks for that Casey will mention this when i get down and order some up, as far as i am aware the bottom (grey) half is standard color on the 3rd gen as the chrome is with 2nd gens
