  • She Failed!

Took the money pit in for MOT today, and it failed.

Apparently ( so the MOT tester told me) you need a complete exhaust system for the vehicle to be considered "road worthy"

Well If I'd know that I'd have brought the rest of it with me ( although I think it got skipped shortly after it fell orf)

It passed on everything else, no problem.

Guess I'll be seeing Nero at the weekend to pick up that new exhaust

Get it fitted and pop back for the retest.

Bullshit!! As long as an exhaust exits the vehicle perimeter, it's OK.

Takings must be down at the testing station today.

Yup - I went to straighten it out the other week, and it kind of pivoted......

I may try and find a piece and have a side exit one - they look cool!!

Mine now terminates about four inches ( 100mm) from the silencer ( muffler) so it's well under the body,

although the other readings were as follows:

            Oil temp..........96 deg.

            Peak 1 = 1.84 m-1

            Peak 2 = 1.12 m-1

            Peak 3 = 1.22 m-1

            average 1.39 m-1

            Limit = 3.00 max

non of it means much to me, anyone care to explain, and is it good/bad/average??

PS: I think it is a smoke reading?

The MOT tester seemed quite surprised that it passed everything else first time without any hitches, I'm surprised he didn't pull the leaking fuel pump again this year
