  • Quick advice needed for surf auction

    Hi,

ok, I've been emailed a 'good'? prospect, just wondering about the cost and what I should set as the maximum limit it's in the auction tomorrow. Here's the spec:-

    98/6 Hilux Surf SSRX 109000km Condition:3.5 out of 5 Interior:C (middle average)
-BT, ABS, AB, SR, RS, AW, PG, GG, Fog lights,
-headlining stained, minor scraches on body, stain on carpet, A4/3 scraches on body, scraches on bumper, stone chip on front screen,
It may need body repaire, but the conditon looks average.
    68,000 miles
    jun 1998 R Reg
    needs cosmetics
    £6000 OTR UK

Any thoughts people? (Mileage was a little high for me, but black intercoolers seem to be like gold dust. also need a bit of cash left over for mods!!!)

TIA! I have about 30mins left to decide

doesn't sound exactly enthralling to me, OK it's a black intercooler, but £6000 and may need body repair - not if it was my money, sorry.

im thinkin same as nero, tbh try not to be swayed by colour, when i got mine green was last on my list, but was such a minter couldnt not buy it,you can get a 3rd gen for much less than 6k with less miles than that

hmm thanks for the input Nero.

I think the 'body repair' bit sounds worse than it actually is though. I know how particular the Japanese are, and a few 'minor' scratches I think will be just minor. But the other thing is I plan to get the silver bits resprayed anyway, which is where the scratches are.

I can only take your word for it, but can you really? most cars I've seen so far for £6k are up at 100-110k miles. I do like the silver colour too, but did wanted black primarily, definately only want black or silver though.

black/silver intercooler already over here at £6250, TBH i'd pay the extra £250 for the peace of mind knowing that i can go have a good look take it for a test drive, and if i don't like it walk away, and all before i part with any cash http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk...=&max_mileage=

BDT - hmm that doesn't actually look to bad as a comparisson.
Nero - same price, but that one has 30k more miles. But I know what you mean about the peace of mind, not that I'd trust my mind looking at a vehicle lol

Edit: ok, so I've just told them I'll go with their OTR guide of £6k and no more. Being an auction I may not even get it, so I'm not greatly fussed if I miss out. I know it's not as cheap as it perhaps could be, but don't feel it's too bad. But it should last a while anyway certainly longer than my current car lol (hopefully). The other thing is as my current MOT ends in June and import takes 10+ weeks, it'll now be starting to cost me if I leave buying one any longer.

oh yes, so it isn't! Didn't we see one like that the other week, or was it the same one? that'll be why it's £4k
