Can you weld mild steel to stainless steel (mig) and if so what wire do i need, s/s or mild steel, or is there a special wire for that? ta.

Yes.Mild steel wire or rods if its tig will do fine. The only reason to use stainless wire/rods would to get a rust proof finish. Many commercial sink units have a stainless tig welded seam as the finished spec and home stainless sinks are normally mild steel weld.

Cheer's Yoshie, it's for mild steel bracket to stainless steel tube as opposed to sinks but i guess the principal's the same, i've got two rolls of s/s 08 gauge wire but no mild, anyway got to get some gas so i'll get a roll then,
      cheers mate
