lol, I missed both Trev's and your's lol, but just deleted mine hehe.
I suppose it has it's plus side as you say haha, but still sad to see even more British money go overseas (directly or indirectly). Unless we come up with new British brands, that once again actually mean quality.
Introducing the TATA Rover......imagine, if you will, the abundance of parts for the poor old Lame Rover owner to have to keep in the garage/boot/kitchen/shed already due to cheapness and general rubbishness - then get TATA to build the car.....
How many owners will need to invest in a warehouse for spares?? Maybe they could pool their spares in one big warehouse in Shropshire.....oh, then they would need a name for it - IndiaPart......yes, that would work....
I think they will do a much better job than we ever did. Over on my MG forum there's some guy who works with Tata ranting about how far advanced they are compared to us.
my mum has worked at a car lamp manufacturers for about 40 years and they have always done landrovers lights. the past 5 years the majority of this manufacturing has actually been done by their asian factories and then sent to her place for quality control/testing. on average nearly 10% fail and need further work done at her works and of these almost half are so poorly made they need to be thrown out. this is just the lights for landrover at the moment, so imagine how bad they'll get when the quality control doesn't even get done.
