Vicki wants to come to scotland

Where should we go for maximum niceness but maximum mileage economy from the good old Malvernshireness?

I've been to the western isles, aand some bits of the west...

Its a long drive. Where should we go, and can we expect some socialising with you guys?

You can do a loop that takes in Glencoe, Glen affric {most senic Glen in Scotland} Inverness, Fort William, Oban

In Oban there are some excellent high speed rib outings to the islands and caves.

The Jacobite steam train {harry potter school train}Glenfinnan viaduct

None of it is to far north. And of course we will be around.

We lived on Benbecula for three years and did the drive up to Skye quite a lot but never stopped to enjoy the scenery. The drive through Glen Coe always sends a chill down my spine.

The west of Scotland's on my list of places to go in the caravan (without the kids) but cos Jackie works in a school we're stuck with doing it at school holiday time which is sub optimal to say the least ! If we actually get it together we'd probably opt for a couple of weeks over the Easter break

Life is too important to take seriously !

You could head up this way and enjoy the best road in scotland from blairgowrie to braemar, and up into tomintoull thats fantastic scenary and to cap it it aint far from the cairngorm fanicular. Glenshee for skiing is right on my doorstep.

I can spend time finding you some nice reasonable accomodation as i know every guesthouse /hotel around here (its a holiday rsort).

I would, if you wanted be able to take time to show you some of the best bits as that saves time in hunting around and getting lost and arriving home tired.

Offers there mate, the wife and i could even lay on the odd meal for you if needed. We are surrounded by lochs and rivers and mountains and all within 30 mile radius.

I also have access to some forrestry lanes for taking the surf on very tame i,e i can take my car down em, but you get to see what others dont from scenery to wildlife.

If you want more info give us a shout on 01250 873286 and leave a message cos it dont ring properly and ill call back when i get it., for sight seeing i could even give you a lend of my diesel picasso at 70 mpg to remove distance restrictions.

        Ok thats enough

I think most folks have said it already but a loop would be fun. I'd go west from Glasgow towards me in Lochgilphead. Great scenery along Loch Lomond side and then through the mountains to the shores of Loch Fyne. Enjoy the excellent seafood then go north to Oban, the gateway to the isles. There's a cracking day trip from Oban over to Mull, Staffa (Fingal's Cave) and Iona. The go via Dalmally and Glen Coe (stop at visitors centre, walk up to the hidden valley). Stop at the Clachaig in for a night of mountain tales and real ales. Then off to Fort William where of course you'll head off on foot up Ben Nevis or take your mountain bike up the gondoal on Aonach Mor to enjoy the scary world cup downhill course back to the car!!

            I could go on!

You'd be welcome here for a night if you can stand 3 young kids and the phone ringing in the middle of the night as the missus dashes off on call! Don't stay too long or I'll be shoving a log splitter in your hand or getting you to clean out the pigs!!!

If you want scenic stuff, I'd recommend going to Ardnamurchan. Stop off at Arrochar and Loch Lomond on your way.

You're not wrong my daughter is 14 on May the 3rd. To date only one birthday has not had brilliant sunshine. I would say to anyone coming that first couple weeks in May are historically good for some sunshine.

Anything up the west coast is going to be good, Morar and the one on Colonsay (can't remember its name!).

If you want nice pubs then Oban is good for a night stop, I can't recommend Ardnamurchan enough, I camped on the beach one night and watched the sunset, pure magic.
Fort William has nothing to offer me except a brilliant mountain to play on with my snowboard (Nevis) which walkers can visit too using the gondola for access.
Aviemore is growing every year and is the heart of Cairngorm.
Edinburgh is my fav city to visit, so much to see and do.
It would be great to meet up with you and hopefully show you some local sights.
Stirlingshire has a few hidden gems and local hills are very nice, the drive to Callander can be brilliant in good weather.

Agree with just about all of the comments so far, bring your tent and where ever you go there is fantastic scenery good pubs and loads to see... and there is the bonus of being allowed to camp wild, that in itself can make an ordinary weekend special....

I would like to chance to meet some of you guys so the chance to camp out with a few beers is VERY appealing

Sorry mate. I was a bit hung over yesterday...

Wouldn't be until late in the year if we did come up as that will be the next time we aren't commited to other things.

Some great ideas, and very generous offers which we'll keep in mind.
