Outter Cv Joint

hi guys how do i get the outter cv joint off the driveshaft?
is it just a case of boshing it with a hammer or what?

I beleieve outside the joint is a circlip that has to bve removed then the joint should slide off, but i might be mixing up the inner one

It has an internal circlip. Support the drive shaft in a good strong vice with some padding to protect the shaft and whack the joint with a suitable hammer.
