  • Jedi's 5 spoke alloys

Hi all... I don't know if anyone remembers a guy called jedi... He had a great looking black surf but sold it a few years ago.... I've seen a few pictures of it on different threads, also on the members rigs site... Just wondering if anyone knows the name of the 5 spoke alloys he put on it... I've tried E-mailing him but to no avail.. I believe he has "gone over to the dark side" and got in vw's so doubt if he ever looks on this forum any more... ( Quite ironic, I was into 1.9 205 GTI,s for 20 years and now "I've seen the light.." and Bought a Black 3.0 ltr ssrx limited.) I believe he sold it to a guy called steve hulluck but don't seem to be able to reach him either... It really was a fantastic looking truck, in a large part due to the wheels, so any help/advice would be greatfully appreciated.. Like most, who have just got a surf i have a list of mods in my head but first comes the Wheels. Well after a full service and a cambelt change..
P.S. Since buying my surf, like many newbies I've had all kinds of questions about what does what etc with my surf... However 5mins on this forum and I discover vertually everyone else has had exactly the same questions and you guys have the answer for everything.. It really does seem like a family..Thanks..

just had a look at the pics in members rigs and they look like pretty plain 5 spokes, could be the elysee's from:

    or

Thanks for replying so quickly.. I thought it would take 24 hours... However if you look closely the 5 spokes on the elysees are rounded, like so many similar 5 spokes.. however jedi's 5 spokes were flat on the front and the centers were scolloped out where the nuts go ( could be studs.. I hav'nt taken my wheels off yet..) Sorry to be a pain but as the say " the devils in the detail" My surf is my new baby and I want it to be right.... This forum really is great.. so much so I may even send in my subs... Cheers..

Thanks for getting back Jedi... Nice to know you still have feelings for the Jap imports... (Would that be the Grey side...) thanks for the info about the wheels... One quick question.. Were they 15's or 16's..... Also, I hope you don't mind but since mine is a 3.0 ltr black limited i'm planing to copy the look of your old surf shamelessly... It really was a beautiful truck... Any how hope all is going well with you and yours and your VW is going well... VW's are a fab ride but when you think Surf's have got power steering, aircon, electric everything, will run on veggie oil , seat five along with luggage and will go any where; one does wonder why everone doesn't have one... Maybe the new "people's car"...
          Regards.. Chris.

no probs mate glad you were impressed as i said wish i still had it, as far as i remember they where 10x15 wheels with 31" tyres, the vw is awesome what more could you want than gettin in the back brewing up pulling out the bed and watching telly all while you sit in a lay by waiting for the aa cos it's broke down again

Hi Guys.. Thanks for the details.... And to Rod a very big thanks, those wheels look just the ticket.. Only thing that worries me is the offset... the ad says the're off a 97R hilux pick up... is the offset the same or maybe close enough not to matter?????
If anying one is on line at the moment and knows the answer please could you post a reply as I may bid on them today.. Cheers....Chris...

They'll be fine Chris, if anything they should fill the arches better than the originals giving your truck a proper muscled look

                          Welcom onboard too.

PS. just noticed they are the same offset as mine, here have a look:

Hi Antshiel... Thanks for the advice... Just noticed you have the same wheels as jedi had... Slightly different to the Ebay ones,( nicer in my opinion ) but beggars can't be choosers as nobody knows what make yours are i'll have to go with the ebay ones.. The ebay ones do look like like they have a deeper dish than yours though... P.s. your truck does look the business..... With a 5" lift you must hate multi stories!!!!! Regards .. Chris

I don't know who makes the wheels but there's writing on one of the spokes on the wheels in blue that says "NR 595" as for multi storey's, i don't even try.
