Strange items in toolkit

Hi. Im a new owner of a 1st gen 2.4 Surf. There are a few niggles with it but it is pretty sound. So far ive been able to find the answer to any question ive had by searching the forums but this ones more difficult. With my surf came a Toyota toolkit in the cubby hole in the boot. There are two square fold out metal things. Can anyone shed any light on what they are?

Thanks for that. I noticed that all the relevant posts came up at the bottom after i posted but didnt when i seadrched.

Looks like ive got a full tool kit though
