  • To the guy who knicked my ebay purchase...

...may your testicles turn square and fester in each corner!

I bought an inclinometer yesterday on ebay, it was £56 delivered so I thought it was a reasonable bargain. Used the buy-it-now, and paid straight away with paypal. All good so far.

Got a phone call a couple of hours later from the seller... very apologetic. It seems that half an hour after I bought the it, somebody turned up at the door and said 'I'm here to pick up the inclinometer I just bought on ebay', handed over the cash, took it and walked off. It was the sellers husband who answered the door, so they didn't realise there was a problem until they later checked and found I had paid via paypal.

So, whoever you are, I'll get you!!!

To be honest, I'm not sure what to do about feedback. It's not the sellers fault really, and I have had my money refunded. I know I won't get a neg back (new ebay rules) so I don't have to worry about retaliatory feedback. Dunno really.

This happens all the time now, it's since the EU forced businesses to declare themselves on eBay and provide a contact address.

It is the seller's fault. They entered a legally binding contract, with you, to sell you the item and you with them to pay for it. You fulfilled your part of the deal, they didn't. How do you know what happened actually happened? Maybe he got a better offer after he sold it to you?

              Leave him negative.

I'd let it go, personally. Leaving the seller neg feedback will achieve nothing.

Got to agree with Matt. A negative seems harsh as you did get your money back. If you still feel aggrieved how about a neutral feedback? You could voice your concerns without damaging his feedback status. (Unless of course he already has a few negs?)

Anyhoo it's your call mate, you'll know what to do in the end.

I don't think they're trading as a business, at least their ebay account doesn't seem to show that.

I agree, whilst I didn't get the item, I am no worse off than I was yesterday morning. Another one will show up at some point.
