not all people that live in council accomadation are knuckle draggers. i live in a 3 bed council house with 5 kids and a mentalty ill wife, i can not work due to my wifes illness so we claim benefits. the benefits are not good. i am my wifes carer and the goverment, do not see that i am because she is able to make her own food, wipe her own ass. so we struggle. so it's not the easiest way to live when you have children that have needs and wants that you can't afford. most of the comments on here apply to me and my family. but that does not mean we are scum or dole bluddgers. if i could work i would, but sometimes thoose choices are taken away from us, i.e if i work i risk losing my wifes life. so be careful what you say. we are not all the same, everyone has a different reason not to work, while some choose not to, some want to. but can't because they could lose things that are more important than work, LIKE FAMILY.

i live part housing assocation but mostly bought or part bought homes i never had the luck growing up or the chances like some on here.
growing up in a home where your always told your no good etc etc thats how ive become ill like i am today i dont want your pity just friends we all got the same interest on this forum.
i lack the skill n confidence like most of you have got but that doesnt make me a bad person if i lived on a council estate.
ok so im mentally ill so what like i said i dont need no pity just need to be accepted most people on council estates never had the chance of good lives growing up etc etc.
im sure even with my probs most of you would say ###### idiot n prob do but know deep down im a guy with a big heart n will help even if i cant remember what ive helped with ask stormy for one perhaps im one of the few stormy even seen me upset n frustrated when i cant do things right.people even say how can i run my surf well i have to have a interest n go without some things. im sure we are all like that weather or not we live in council on private homes we all bleed the same.
yes im a goverment artist!!! i draw the dole lol n ive got 3 kids n yes even my benefits are taxable not alot but still taxable . i still give my kids what i can they dont have alot but they have the care n love i never had as a kid.
like i said i think ive made alot of friends on here n i have had alot of help of you guys even if your in council house or private.
i dont mind being the forum idiot but think alot of you have taken what was said out of context n dont think what was said was meant to be taken like that either.
look at us all some can do things n are good at it n some cant some have probs some admit it some dont some are disabled some aint but when it comes down to it we all help one another n care about each other when one is in hospital or ill etc.
i worked on what jobs i could get all my life till 13 years ago when i had my breakdown life affects n some grow with it just waiting to come n mess your life up.
me ive struggled all my life not like some of you who have been able to do things for themselfs n had the confidence.
i also know if i was ill or in hospital youd all do the same worry n if you had to rush in some form to help.
but like i said im the forum idiot but it dont take me long to read someone or know when something is read wrong even i can read things on the forum wrong sometimes like i did with stormy that time but we still friends n help each other. so please guys read thread again i really think it was taken out of context.
we all love our surfs we all bleed the same n hurt the same so there na na nana na the forum idiot had his rant. n dont forget we all help each other in some way etc etc in a manly way of course
n p.s winston churhill was a depresive n look what he did for the country he helped with the warLast edited by pirate-storm; 15 March 2008, 12:22.

I dont think any one on this thread was saying we were all the same on council estates. But what i think we were saying is that shannons estate looked a bit dodgy . I live on a one and it certainly is not like that. And i didnt get affended by any off the comments made on this thread. As for shannon i think she went there to teach her family a lesson. Reasons being-
1 She told her mum before she left that she was going to run away and her mum shouted back good dont come back.
2 No witnesses to a car picking her up because i think she walked there of her own accord.
3 The person in the flat below said she could hear a child running around , surly if u kept a child like that u wouldnt let her run arround.
4 y would she hide in the bed and keep quiet when the police were in the flat, i would of thought she would have shouted out as soon as she could.
After all that it does not excuse the fact that this man did what he did and in my oppinion should still be strung up by his balls. Also i could have this all totaly wrong but its just a bit weired that she hasnt been given back to her family yet and has a protection order around her. Finally this is a forum and this is what we all sign up for is to read everyone elses oppinions be it right or wrong.

Mate, re-read my post.
The reason the lazy ones need kicking is PRECISELY because of cases like yours. Social security was originally set up as a safety net to provide for those who cannot through no fault of their own support themselves. NOT so lazy, healthy individuals can take a free ride.
My folks are in the same boat. My dad has MS, cannot walk, is going blind, and incontinent. my mum is his carer. They get almost NO help at all. Why? Because they worked. Because they are supposed to use ALL of the money they worked for over the years to pay for his support before the state will give them anything at all!
Yet, their neighbour is on incapacity benefits due to a supposed back injury, does not 'officially' work, always has a new car on the path, yet goes out on the quiet laying patios!!!
There's the fairness in the system.
I stand by what I said. Those who CAN work, should work. Those who cannot, through illness, disability etc (and I suspect your situation falls into the latter) should be properly provided for.
At the moment, the people in the latter category are sh1t upon so we can pay for the lazy.
I think we are all on the same side here, its just things come across less eloquently due to the emotion of the subject.Cutting steps in the roof of the world

it's like all things words have no emotions so things get taken out of context.
andy i agreed with what you said in your posts what i did not like is people inplying that because they have 5-6 kids and don't work dosen't mean they are knuckle draggers

Well, didn't that stir up a hornets nest
Apache has put it better than I did, I was "tired" last night when I posted, I won't delete what I said, coz it will make the rest of the thread seem out of context.
We all have our own opinions, and I meant no disrespect to those members who feel I was aiming my comments at them.
I have a very wide brush sometimes, and like to tar everybody with it.
Trouble with me is I see so many people around me that are just taking the pi55 out of the system, and are just thieving scumbags, coz that's how they've been brought up, I was brought up to be honest and work for a living, but that don't seem to have worked out for me, and I guess I'm feeling a little bitter at the world in general. I'll get over it, I think you all should too.
My comments seem to have hijacked this thread and I apollogise for that.Rob

Hi, most of u know me, i'm sledge's wife, yh, i'm mentally ill, yh i need a carer, yh, we're in a housing asscocation house n yh, we're on benefits with 5 adorable children, all i have to say is this, i'm really glad that Shannon is safe and alive, one of the reasons for my mental ilness is that i was sexually abused when i was younger, i hope with all my heart that people see the light and do not tar all people with the same brush and please see that this could effect Shannon for the rest of her life and could easily end up mentally ill herself and be claiming benefits and living in a council house with children of her own, this would be thru no fault of her own yet would she be classed as a knuckle dragger?
think about it!
