If you want reliability and strength go for a good quality glass not paper board. as for manufacturers of the type of board you are after i haven't got a clue. someone on here will know.
If it can be broken it can be fixed

He'll be OK with MDF as long as it doesn't get wet.

What is a reliable, stable board, with preferably three standard PCI slots which is suitable for 24/7 server usage? Going to be running BSD too, so any type of Windoze certification ain't necessary. After something that ain't prone to either random, unexplained glitches, exploding/leaking caps and or phantom resets and the like, and uses well supported chipsets. Processor wise, not fussy. One that doesn't use any fans for the onboard bridge chips and suchlike too.

          Cheers much.
if thats all ya want with no fancy bits

get a cheap second hand dell
intel proceser chips works fast at that kind of level with no problems for years
dew to the less useage on the mother board (low FSBS)
where has AMD proceser chip works more of the board for the gamers that chose AMD for it faster FSBS making it quicker on grafics and better for gaming
          but more prone to problems
