ford prime pump

hi, i have heard you can use a ford transit prime pump as a replacement for the surf one,has anyone done this? what year was the transit pump off?cheers

It's used on most of the Ford diesels. Local factors will probably sell a compatible/pattern one. Should be under thirty quid or so. The filter is smaller, but otherwise should work fine. The filters are under a fiver too, if I remember correctly.

hi matt, ive seen some on ebay for £20 to fit a 1995-2000 transit 2.5 diesel, i think it might be that type,

Cast top with primer, filter unit, (approx 3" high in the middle), with a bottom cast section and a bolt that goes fully through to secure the sections together. Has tapped holes on the sides of the head/primer unit for accepting hose/pipe connectors. If it looks something like that, then yes, those are the ones.
