  • weeee, Lost HP rediscovered.

Very happy tonight, L's truck hasn't feel quite right for ages now, and MPG was down, lots of redex, filter changes, etc..... but while its not anything you could put your finger on, its just not felt 'right' if you know what I mean.

Tonight I pulled the little gauze filter out from behind the fuel temp sensor on the fuel pump, and EEK!!!! .........

Wonder the poor Bullet was getting any fuel at all!!!

    Now it looks like this......

Took the truck for a quick test, and to get a kebab, and wahoo!! What a difference, stunning, very happy.

Scary thought for the day, everything inside the fuel pump up to this filter, which is last thing the fuel goes through before pipes to injectors, must look the same. Looks like soon to time to hoik it out and send it off to DBT for a re-con.

I know we have cack in the tank, cos every so often it blocks the pipe from the tank to the filter and the truck dies, and I have to blow back up the fuel pipe with an airline to clear it, but didn't think anything noticable would make it past the fuel filter, but there you go......

'bout 5mins to get it out, same to steal clean one off a spare motor, same again to put it back. Then 1/2 hour to get it started, as primer pump isn't good and batteries poor

And before you get to excited, 2.4 don't have a filter there.
