The only wiring required is for the illumination - which you don't need to bother with unless you fly at night

      i recently aquired an altimeter ! ! !

they're a complete TW@T to fit unless your gonna have your dash out for some other reason i really wouldn't bother !
i got mine from a local scrapyard....without total butchery it took me about 40 mins to get it out..lying on my back with a led light strapped to my head ! before the bulk head there's a metal (roll cage type) tube directly inside the dash where the altimeter needs attaching !
then my wire loom doesn't have a wire/plug for the altimeter so it has to be powered from the stereo ! (or cut into the loom)
after fluckuin about for hours i dont really think it was worth it for such a small mod !

spend the £20.00 on diesal on have some fun in ya surf ! !!

        Re

        WHAT!

They are a doddle to fit mate!

All you need is a dark felt pen, a drill (to drill hole for wires) and 2 self tappers!

        See!

It took me 20 mins to fix the Altimeter and another 30 mins to locate a live wire to pipe the light in!

Just bash the original bolts out and use self tappers!

It has been on 2 years now and never budged!

Mine was originally grey but you can paint it whatever colour you like with some good acrylic!

Black seems to be good as it matches the dash on all the colour variations of Surfs!

        Later!

        Gary

P.S. I done my steering wheel and column surround at the same time as I painted the alti is it was a manky yellowly blue yukky colour!

        Came out good!

it's only the metal mount that holds it to the dash not the whole thing

slugsie is the high bidder on that one, £41 with 6 days to go lol!

Waste of ###### time those things, if you are that far over in yer truck you aint looking at the inclinometer and if you are high up then you are high up and it will probably be colder.

so you don't need an altimeter.

I know they're a waste of time. But I like bells, whistles, flashing lights, and dials.
