  • Thinking of getting a Pajero for offroading

Please help, I'm considering buying a Pajero for greenlaning.

    They are just so cheap.

SWB 2.8 TD with intercooler 96 / N in very good condition with history £1500.

It's hard to resist at those prices.

my father has the same pajero and it seems like a good car, has plenty of power and is far quiter than my 4runner.
i dont know how capable off road they are though.

Why not, would'nt mind doing that myself but would;nt pay that much for one, my nabour got an old SWB shogun for £50 that he the rags about off road in, would'nt be bothered about getting summat like that battered,
Too young to die and too old to give a toss

Thats the problem, have a nice truck and you don't want to damage it, there are a few Paj for less than a £1000 around here, but I don't want to buy a project to work on, I want something at least 1/2 reliable.

          My mate just bought this

That will be great fun in the summer

That looks nice, i know what'd happen if i got something like that, i'd end up "doing "that up as well as the surf and still have no off road truck
Best thing is a trailer so you dont have to worry about getting home in the one your off roading in, thats what i'd like to do, suppose you could buy a cheapy old surf and same thing, also handy for spares etc

You should've bought my surf. That was a lot more than 50% reliable and a lot cheaper than a nasty paj.

                  dont do it!
the 2.8 is slower than my 2.4 and my friends one was constantly getting stuck. the ammount of times i had to get someone to drive my truck out to us because his rubbish pajero got stuck i now hate them.
plus pajero means a dirty word so if you want to go around with that written all over it well... lol
