2.4 head is cracked... Urg...

Howdy All,
Put my truck in the other day and my friendly German mechanic tells me that my head is cracked kaput! Awesome news
Apparently the garage back in the UK whom I may name and shame later didn't fit the new radiator correctly... and the fan pulley tensioners were on backwards... and the timing belt and pulley I paid for was never fitted by the looks of it... GUTTED!!!
She's still getting me to the shops and all, lazy white smokey starter... so either the cam belt will go or she's gonna die fromthe head crack. She was sexy as well...
Got me about £4k from crying at the bank... any advice on where to grab a nice 2nd gen 3.0? And should I try and part ex my old or sell on for parts? I gotta risk the journey back to UK though...

Something tells me this won't be an easy ride.

Got European cover for the drive over. So not too worried by that... I think the old girl will make it...

Thatll get you a 3rd gen mate, i'd look for one as reliability goes up quite alot, and mods are just as easy

I'm really torn between the sexiness of a 2nd gen and the reliability of a 3rd...

You can get a whole new engine from japan for about £900, with warrenty.

You could fit new engine, and you'll then have the reliability you're looking for, for a lot less than £4k
