Quick question about transmission light.

Just driven home and the transmission flight flicked on. It was only brief and in all fairness I was really hoofing away from a standing start and giving it a shoe full of revs. (trying to get round a knob in a fiesta). Anyway i noticed the revs were touching the red line.

The light went out when I throttled back and it has stayed off.

Should I be concerned here or was it the Surf just giving me an "EEEEEEEEEasy Tiger." heads up?

Check the ATF level.

What on earth were you doing, "the revs were touching the red line".
Mine won't even get within a sniff of that line.

Not quite. I've never seen it do that either but it was either down to one of two things

(1) The Surf was also pjssed off with the car in front
or
(2) It kept trying to kick down to a gear that didnt exist.

Will check ATF level tomorrow.

I've not long serviced it and checked it then but its seconds to take the stick out and have a look.

Checked engine oil and ATF both seem fine.

Will keep an eye on it.

I hadnt thought of that I was chucking it a bit in all fairness.

I have just turned her over, she is purring like a good un. Trans light flicked on during ignition but went out on fire up.

I think I was just having a bit of a wobble as I say i have never seen it before but it happened when the head went.
