Yes, I think we'd stopped to have afternoon tea, when the yanks "drove through" which of course just wasn't cricket.

I thought it was because we had blown the budget once we got past Calais

well that and the 4th Lesbian and whale lover batallion refused to fight on the grounds that it was against their religion !
