can anyone tell me where the best place is to get bits and bobs, mods and the like for surfs. Can't find anything of use on the net except ebay and am too impatient to wait for the auctions to finish.

Depends what you need. Try the for sale and wanted sections on here. Hilux and Streetluge Chris often have bits for sale.
Milners is good http://www.milneroffroad.com/ for general bits, many local car parts shops sell them now too, Toyota (can be pricey)
