  • Sidelight mods

    Good people of this forum.
I need to be able to run off road in the dark using only sidelghts. Dipped beam is WAY too much light for my early morning requirements. I can happily do this with the works Hilux but as you all know, Surf sidelights leave something to be desired. (at least in my case)
Can anyone come up with a cunning plan to solve my problem.
    Yours in anticipation

      Honourable trade, poaching.
Look at Gordon Ramsey, Delia Smith or Jamie Oliver.
All made fortunes out of doing eggs.

use a spot lamp or attach front fog lamps these should give you enough light to see

            Nope.
Fog lamps or spots provide too much light.
I only need to be able to see about ten yards in front. As I said, Hilux sidelights provide more light than Surf sidelights but not 55 watts worth.
I was hoping someone might know if slightly higher wattage bulbs are available for me truck.

I've got these in the Celica, megga bright and no other modifications required.

Just plug them in and switch on.

The video doesn't show their full brightness, but they are really bright.

                  Divine intervention.
I was taking the Mick about Judwak's spelling of goggles and I couldn't manage to spell good.
                  Lesson learned, sorry mate.

if those dont work what about some neon under the front bumper. You might look like a bit of a poser but might get the job done.

are you trying to give out less light??
if so just put 24v bulbes in your side lights or darken them out a bit

Basically, I need just enought light to see where the trees are and not so much as to chase anything away. I might try to mount a couple of reversing lamps under my lightbar. I think that should work. (famous last words)
                              Thanks for the suggestions folks.
                              Much appreciated.
