  • Calling Scottish Surfers

I'm on the mooch for a favour, to cut a long story short I have suspicions about the health of the ECU in my truck and was wondering if anyone would be willing to let me try theirs on my truck before I try and source a replacement...

    Anyway, mine is a 93 3.0 TD Auto (KZN130)

ECU codes on the side are

    1KZ-TE
    89661-3D100
    1758001312 12V
    Denso

Oh I'm in Dundee, NE Scotland btw

If you were stuck and willing to travel to Denny you could try mine.

Thanks for the offer but the way the truck is running (or not) I reckon I'd use about £50 of diesel to get there and back!!

been reading the workshop manual again and knowing the symptoms I'm pretty sure I'm looking at an ecu fault, I hope

did it turn out to be your ecu that was at fault?

I will be coming through Dundee first week in march sometime, probably Wed 5th on my way to collect some pigs.

I could stop for an hour.

Aye. I'd like to try Berkshires and also have enjoyed, and learnt from his blog, so I decided to put the business his way.

well fitted the "new" ecu and.....

I am tentatively optimistic, it now rev's better than it ever has and no check light!

can't take it for a drive right now as the wife is working until 10 and apparently it's frowned upon to leave the kids home alone
