I'm looking for a timing control valve for my 3.0 TD (KZN130) and have been quoted a slightly uncomfortable £162 + vat, spoke to a couple of the guys in the sponsored links and no joy, anyone make any suggestions where I can get a TCV from?

If you can supply me with the Genuine Toyota part number I will put it into tec doc at work & see if there are any aftermarket alternatives available.

Have a word with Bob - Hilux, he may be able to help out.

wasn't convinced about fitting a 2nd hand one as it may be the same, but that said money saved and all that...

as for a part number, the local toyota dealer wouldn't give me the part number, when I asked for it he said "I've got it written down if you want me to order it"

about to go have a root round the cars advertised as breaking

don't know what else it would be called, it appears under the diesel injection pump, it's the lowest connector under the pump, has about a 6 inch fly lead with 2 pole grey connector on the end, I'll see if I can extract the page from the workshop manual once the kids are in bed

interesting, on the UK area version that part no. only shows up as being used on the 1kz-te engined land cruiser 90 series, and some other corolla and something else i forgot.

It shows up for a surf if you switch to the jap area version but you don't normally need to.

Thought it was worth mentining coz your toyota dealer will probably try and tell you it's the wrong part.

cheers nero, the local dealer wouldn't give me the part number he found, presume to stop me trying to order it somewhere else, I got that from searching the Australian forum....

Is it possible to get a copy of the parts database? I've got a similar thing for the Alfa/fiat and it's invaluable.

there's a couple of versions of the EPC (electronic parts catalogue) on MattF's download site at http://forums.bauchan.org/portal/vie...ads.php?dcid=3

you'll be best off using an FTP client like FileZilla and setting it up to just keep retrying until there's a download slot available as there's only a limited number of download connections available at a time from the FTP site.
