It cant happen how would they get rid of all the old cars? how much polution would that make???!!?!?! dont think anyone would let that happen. maybe the tree huggers would come help us at last!
This is a perfect example of just how bonkers some of these euro-cretins are isn't?
Have they considered the impact of getting rid of the materials that make up, oh, I dont know, 30 million cars, and the impact of building 30 million new ones?
Its probably been put forward by some hand-knitted pullover wearing, pipe smoking, lentil munching dope-head from Amsterdam...
Am I lost? But where is the arcticle to read explaining what the tree huggers want to do? Found a few news articles and blogs, but they're all over a year old.
were i live 90% of cars round here are over 10 years old
it carnt happen its not cost efective to export or scrap cars from the uk
we pay to much for them in the first place
it will not work in the uk
no they will make them excempt like red ken has made the old buses that are in the london low emission zone
We have busses running round here from 1972! spewing out blue (not black) smoke. It would cost the bus companies a fortune, but of course they would get a back hander to renew them, or a red ken style exemption, of course as would the council. It would be us normal people that would suffer.
It's high time we left europe and started producing our own laws again, meddling, tree hugging, B******s
It was about the first thing they did in Malta. They're banning all the old busses and forcing the owners (who are all individuals, not large companies) to buy new ones.
Our newest service buses in Ashford are R reg, so 1998 10 years old this summer, we then have a series of N reg single deckers 12 years old, a few odd L reg (14 years old) and H reg (17 years old) all our double deckers are between B and F reg (so between 19 and 26 years old).
Great considering the Chief Exec of the company running most of them recently claimed in national press he had no buses over 10 years old in his UK fleet.
