  • Sometimes washing the truck pays off

Just given my Surf a quick wash to get rid of the huge amounts of mud caked all over it. I then gave the drive way a quick wash too. Noticed a small metal disc in the mud. Bent down, picked it up, it a £1 coin! Nice. Carried on, two minutes later, another one!

So, washed the truck, and £2 better off as a result. YAY for being shiney!

BTW, anyone got any hints for removing dried on veg oil? The area around the filler is covered in splash marks etc, and they don't come off easily.

Well, I did use Turtle Wax car wash stuff. Thats supposed to leave a layer of waxy turtles over the truck, or summat like that.

The problem is that I'm scared of some of the things I might find inside.

Tried some fairy washing up liquid, it got some of it off.

Motor bike de-greaser works a treat for the veg oil.

Glad to hear you`ve removed all the Briercliffe gloop! I am almost complete in removing it from all the important bits but alas`, i`m a sucker for punishment and am going to coat the truck with the same sheepy cement quarry gloop next weekend!
Some-one will no doubt lecture me on the bad practice of removing veg-oil stains and other stubborn marks with white-spirit.......

how long does it take you?
i have a routine - polish with t-cut restore polish and then wax.. but takes forever!!

i think i will stop the restore now, and use 2 or 3 coats of wax.. but its like 2 or 3 hours work!
