    Hi everyone,

I changed the 2.4 diesel engine the other day and started it briefly with no coolents in and belts of fired up 2 beats and i turned it off straight away

So put all the pulleys on rad excetera now won't start and is doin g my haed in.

There is diesel to all four injectors, will fire on a bit of easy start (not that i agree with it and it was only a sniff). So my short list

    Injectors f@cked
ive knocked the timing out slightly
    elctrical contact somewhere

All thoughts greatfully recieved as to where i should start or have i missed something

    cheers

Mass Air Flow - do these have those??

I'd start with the timing first.....

I was sure the timing was fine when i put it back together, timing was my first thought but loathed to take all the belts and pulleys off again

No belts mean everything wont turn in conjuction with everything else.

The main belts were on just not alternator power stearing etc. (i'am not that silly, am I)

                              Conclusion

So i took of all the belts and casing and the timing was spot on all marks lined up Check glow plugs, no power so rig up temp wire. Turn it over again fires once and stops. repeat fires once and stops (definatley got diesel to injectors) got to be electrical. so check power to the deisel cut of solanoid with ignotion on, Yep no probs. Turn over again fires up and stops Its got to be cutting out electrically and can't test solanoid while turning over so wire 12v straight to fuel cut off EUREKA. It started.

Why would the power to the solanoid fail after ignition
Is the glow plug power failiure linked
