  • Tech Weekends!

Nina (MudSurfette) has come up with a great idea - Tech Weekends - where we get together to demonstrate a specific skill/mod so the less technically minded amongst us (including me) can watch and learn while the techno gods show us how it's done. Rounded off with a BBQ or something similar so we get to meet new people, learn new skills and someone drives off with a modded truck!!!

We could find pubs with space for camping and a car park if there isn't anywhere with space - or find farmers with fields and barn space or people with large gardens or something............

    What do you all think?????

I know its big of me but I don't mind offering my truck to be modded till everyones hearts content just let me know where to bring her.
Any chance you could start with a v8 conversion and back and front winch

    Cheers
    Brian

Sounds good to me, I'd try and be there if one happens in a more northerly location. I'm about to try and learn how to arc-weld, so guidance from a knowledgeable person there would help.

In return I can offer assistance for PC/Windows type problems.

Great idea I had the same thought a while back.

One of the VW forums I go on does this regularly and they are usually a great success. They call them Techenders and its a great place to share advice and pick up new skills.

Count me in I would be very interested in a weekend of this.

That's where Nina brought the idea from, she has a '72 camper, and we were talking about Techenders the other day, so we agreed to post it here.......

'Bruce' is up at the farm waiting for spring so we can get onto a project, new interior, tidy up some of the paintwork and making him nice and shiney and cool!!!!

Any ideas and info on Techender weekends would be great if you have experience of them!

More than happy to provide a fair weather venue, and endless tea and flapjack...
Just dont leave any bits or tools laying around, or I'll have em...
                it's in me shed, mate.

Found a link to the VW Techenders.

                      http://www.freewebs.com/techenders/index.htm

It looks like a fairly good starting point to base the Surf Tech Weekend on what do you think?

This is the campsite they use according to the site but will get confirmation later on.

Plenty of room in the back garden! Barbecue ready to go.... I doubt his lordship would allow off roading....
